VIDEOS: How Lower Queen Street and its surrounds will look in 2020

This is how Lower Queen Street will look in 2020 after the CRL construction is finished.

Downtown's Lower Queen Street is to be transformed into a wonderful new public space.

When the CRL work is completed, a pedestrian square will return to the Lower Queen Street area outside the main entrance to the Britomart Transport Centre.

When the temporary Britomart station entrance is removed, this is how the area around Tyler and Galway Streets will look.

In January 2017, the Queen Street entrances to the Britomart Transport Centre were closed for three years so that the CRL tunnelling work underneath could be done.

The new temporary building was built at the back of the centre resulting in the new main entrance for the Auckland transport hub being on Commerce Street. Commuters can also access the station from Tyler St, Galway St and Takutai Square.
