At Mercury Lane, the temporary shaft in the centre of the picture is progressing rapidly with two of the three ring beams poured. The shaft – which provides underground access for all plant and personnel – will eventually be more than 20 metres deep and covered by a massive noise enclosure, allowing for 24/7 operations.

Safety is paramount on the #Link Alliance #crl #cityraillink construction sites.
Those working on the Karangahape Station recently held a site-wide evacuation drill, which included getting a worker-sized dummy above ground from the temporary access shaft. The shaft is now more than halfway to its final depth of 22-metres.
A big thanks to our neighbours for letting 150 ‘orange vests’ assemble in their car park!
